Action between Posh and Exeter City

A late Millenic Alli goal earned Exeter City a point from a 1-1 draw at the Weston Homes Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Sometimes in football you don't get what you deserve. There is no doubt that Peterborough United created the most notable chances in this game, but despite looking comfortable at 1-0, Darren Ferguson's men were cruelly denied a confidence-boosting three points by a late Millenic Alli strike - the winger firing home the rebound after his penalty was saved by Nicholas Bilokapic.

Posh carved out all of the best opportunities in the game with Cian Hayes, Gustav Lindgren and Ryan De Havilland all coming mighty close, but that failure to make it 2-0 ultimately came to bite the hosts on the backside with Tayo Edun penalised for a penalty kick two minutes from time.

De Havilland stabbed wide on four minutes after good work from Malik Mothersille while Ricky-Jade Jones couldn't quite squeeze and effort on target after a good run and pass from Cian Hayes.

Kamari Doyle thought he had scored at the other end when his 25-yarder rippled the outside of the net in a rare foray forward from the Grecians.

On 30 minutes, Whitworth produced a fine save, pushing De Havilland's strike onto the post after a low cut-back from Mothersille.

The deadlock was broken three minutes later and it was a fine team goal, finished superbly by skipper Hector KYPRIANOU.

On 38 minutes, Hayes had a good chance to double the lead, but he couldn't' keep his close-range effort down after a cross to the back post by Mothersille.

Mothersille and Fernandez both headed wide at the start of the second half while De Havilland rifled wide with his left-foot from the edge of the box.

On 78 minutes, substitute Lindgren couldn't' force the ball home after Whitworth could only parry a Mothersille cross as another chance went begging.

A minute from time, Exeter were awarded a spot-kick as Edun was penalised for a foul in the box and ALLI tapped home after his spot-kick was saved by Bilokapic.
