Posh Women boss has confirmed his backroom staff for the upcoming campaign.
Peterborough United Women manager Dan Lawlor can confirm his backroom staff for the upcoming 2023/24 FA Women’s National League campaign, with Ammar Qadeer stepping into the role as assistant manager.
Qadeer, who was Lawlor’s first team coach last season, has been promoted into the role following the departure of Dave Copson at the end of the season. Posh will now welcome two new first team coaches ahead of the new campaign, with Harry Mclean and Adam Timson both joining from Leicester City Women's set-up.
Lawlor has retained the services of Alex Pain as the Head of Performance and Sam Palmer as the Head of Medical. Harry Howarth will also join the backroom staff as the club’s new analyst.
Timson joined The Foxes in the Development Centre before having roles throughout their academy, from under 11s to the under 21s, while Mclean has spent five years as a Youth Development Phase Lead Coach at Leicester City Women's Academy and currently works as the kit & operations manager whilst supporting the coaching team for The Foxes' first team.
Lawlor on his two new first team coaches: “They both bring a good wealth of experience in women’s football. They have worked together for a long time at Leicester City. They are very competent coaches who can offer and add a lot to us.
"We needed something a bit different and they bring what we need and what I have been looking for. It’s early days with them, but I think they will make a big difference to us and ease the workload for myself. I’m really looking forward to working with them.”
The club can also confirm the appointment of Steve Corry as the goalkeeper coach ahead of the new campaign. Corry joins the club with a wealth of experience in the game, starting his career at Rushden & Diamonds before spells at Stamford Town, Oldham Athletic, Kettering Town and Boreham Wood.
Lawlor is delighted to have Corry on board for next season: “An ex-goalkeeper who brings a wealth of experience with him. We’ve introduced him to the group and he has already become very popular.
"An all-round guy who understands the demands we’re asking from the team and he wants to help develop the goalkeepers we have at the club. A strong addition to the staff and one I am very happy with."
