U21s v Burnley

Posh Under 21s face a quick turnaround on Tuesday afternoon (1pm) when they make the trip to Burnley in the Professional Development League.

Peterborough United Under 21s will look to return to winning ways on their travels to Lancashire on Tuesday (1pm) with Burnley the task at hand for our development side.

Our Under 21s head North having fallen short to Swansea City last time out, with Eddie Fox’s late strike serving as a consolation.

The opposition, Burnley, saw their run of six unbeaten slip in midweek with Sheffield United extending their gap at the summit of the table.

Andy Farrell’s side handed Posh a second defeat of the campaign in the reverse fixture, owing to a dominant second period from the Clarets.

TEAM NEWS

It’s expected that a similar squad to which featured on Friday will travel to Burnley although Darren Ferguson has intimated a number of players might require minutes.

Max Beech and Milan Kovaci remain sidelined, while Ollie Rose is unavailable after completing a loan move to Scunthorpe United.

THE OPPOSITION

Burnley sit third in the North table having picked up 29 points from 16 league matches. The Clarets have seen nine victories, two draws and five defeats over the course of the campaign, sitting seven points adrift of leaders Sheffield United.

FROM THE MANAGER

“We’re looking forward to the game. It will be a tough test; we’ve played them a number of times across the past few years, and they put you under pressure with their style so we’ll have to be able to deal with that and if we do, we can expect a positive performance. There were some positive moments [against Swansea], the second half particularly, and we’ll be looking to start the game like we started that on Friday,” Ryan Semple said.
