Posh Women face The Lilywhites in the Women’s FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
Peterborough United Women begin their Women’s FA Cup journey on Sunday afternoon (2pm) as they face Cambridge City Ladies in the third round qualifying at The New Croft.
Dan Lawlor’s side will look to repeat the heroics of last season in this competition, where they reached the Third Round Proper - the furthest the club has achieved in its history - and faced Barclays Women’s Championship side Durham Women.
The Lilywhites compete at the same level as Posh, but just in the South East Division, and have yet to register a win in the league this season, however, they have picked up two points in their last two games after draws with AFC Sudbury and Cambridge United.
Team News
Dan Lawlor will continue to have a full squad at his disposal and confirmed he will utilise a bigger bench in this competition, with teams able to name seven substitutes. Forward Zaiga Lacite made her first start for the club in their previous fixture against Notts County Women, completing 60 minutes.
Midfielder Renai Bennett, alongside new signing Darcy Guy, featured for the under 23s last weekend, with the former scoring in the 6-0 victory over Sutton Coldfield Town Development.
From The Gaffer
“We had a good run in this competition last year, but all I’m interested in doing is playing games and winning. It’s just another game of football that we will tackle into and one I’m looking forward too. We need a performance this weekend, it hasn’t been quite there over the last couple of games, so I’m really looking for a good performance on Sunday. You can look at any team to see how they are doing and their recent form, but we will just need to focus on what we need to do and be the best version of ourselves that we can be,” Dan Lawlor said.

Last Time Out In The FA Cup
Posh welcomed Mansfield Town Ladies to the Abbey Lawn at this stage of the competition last year and secured a 3-1 victory over The Stags to progress to the First Round Proper for a second consecutive season. Jess Driscoll netted the opener on what was her 100th appearance for the club before Tara Kirk and Cassie Steward extended their advantage and sealed the win for Posh.
