Peterborough United Under 21s make the trip to Wales on Tuesday afternoon (1pm) with Cardiff City the task at hand.

Ryan Semple’s side have seen a turnaround in fortunes in recent weeks, arriving in the Welsh capital with the chance to make it three unbeaten.

Ricky-Jade Jones, Chris Conn-Clarke (2) and Andre Changunda were all on target as our development side brushed over Bristol City, before closing the month with a goalless draw in the second city.

Cardiff will be hoping to put an end to their winless patch, having last tasted victory in the South Wales derby seven games back, when Darren Purse’s side recorded a buoyant 2-1 victory over their arch rivals.

Our youngsters have a hex to break when it comes to facing the Bluebirds, losing in each of their last three outings.

TEAM NEWS

Defenders Ollie Rose (calf) and Justin Osagie (ankle) join a host of Under 18s in missing out through injury concerns, while Noah Freeman is unavailable due to suspension.

With the senior squad travelling south to Crawley, options are limited with a number of Under 18s expected to come into the mix.

THE OPPOSITION

Cardiff sit fifth in the southern section, having picked up 35 points from 23 league matches. Darren Purse’s young Bluebirds have seen ten victories, five draws and eight defeats over the course of the term, sitting six points above our youngsters with an equal amount of matches played.

FROM THE MANAGER

Lead Professional Development Phase (Under 21s) Coach Ryan Semple said ahead of the game: “We’re looking forward to the game tomorrow - it will be a tough challenge against a side we haven’t faced already this season. It was a tough game last year, but one that we feel if we upped our quality, our work ethic and energy, we can expect a good performance this time around."
