Posh Women back on the road on Sunday afternoon against The Blues.
Peterborough United Women return to action on Sunday afternoon (3pm) as they travel to The F.Ball Community Stadium to face Leek Town Ladies in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands.
Dan Lawlor’s side have won their last two games on the bounce in the league, beating Sutton Coldfield Town Ladies and, most notably, Lincoln City Women, where Posh ran out 4-1 winners at Abbey Lawn.
Leek Town have enjoyed a good start to their campaign, currently sitting third in the table on seven points after picking up victories against Leafield Athletic and Sheffield FC, while also drawing 2-2 with Lincoln City Women.
Team News
Speaking to Posh+ ahead of the game, Lawlor confirmed that he will have a full squad travelling to Staffordshire, with only Zaiga Lacite and Eden Bailey unavailable at the minute, with the former returning to contact training earlier in the week.
The Blues completed three new signings, including Sarah Beckett, who was signed from Stoke City, Louise Carr, who is formerly of Tower Hamlets, and Talluah Gotham, who joined from Newcastle Town last season.
From The Gaffer
“It’s a tough game this weekend. They have started the season well and their home form has always been very good. They will be a rugged team at home, they are very hard to beat and very organised, but also have some good players that can hurt us. However, we are a very different side this season and turning up to Leek away with a full squad, whereas we had three under 23s players on the bench. I’m now going into away games with confidence, but we need to turn up to games with the right attitude.”

One To Watch
Centre-back Cassie Hyde is the one to watch ahead of this weekend’s trip to The F. Ball Community Stadium. Despite being a defender, Hyde finished as the club’s top goalscorer last season, netting eight goals in 27 appearances, and received the most Opposition Player of the Match awards across the whole of Divison One Midlands.
Previous Meeting
The two sides have met on four occasions since Posh were promoted to tier four, with The Blues enjoying success on their own ground. Both teams met in April at The F. Ball Community Stadium, with Leek Town running out as 2-0 winners after a brace from Jennifer Jacques.
