Posh Women are set to travel to Lincoln United this Sunday (2pm) in the FA Women's National League Division One Midlands.
Peterborough United Women will face Lincoln United at Ashby Avenue on Sunday afternoon (2pm) with Jake Poole’s side looking to build on their seven match unbeaten run.
Posh Women secured their place in the Northamptonshire County Cup last weekend with a 5-0 victory over Wellingborough Town Ladies. Their last league encounter was at the beginning of the month where Posh claimed a 3-2 win over Sutton Coldfield Town. Posh sit third in the table on 44 points, one point off leaders Loughborough Lightning who have two games in hand.
Lincoln United currently sit ninth in their inaugural season in the FA Women’s National League having won seven and drawn one of their 19 matches. They most recently lost 5-1 against Northampton Town but secured a 2-1 win over Leafield Athletic prior to that.
Team News
Jake Poole has a strong selection at his disposal for this weekend. Jess Abrantes and Rebecca Mears impressed in last weekend’s County Cup semi-final and could keep their place in the squad for this Sunday.
From The Coach
Speaking to Posh+ ahead of the game, Michael Anderson said: “We’ve had a couple of good results already, so we’ll go there with confidence and look for a positive result.
“We want to finish as positively and as high up in the league as we can. We’ve spoke to the players about equalling the points tally from last season with a win and hopefully we can break it with the remaining games as well.”
