Posh Women look to bounce back after a midweek defeat with their penultimate pre-season fixture against Norwich City on Sunday.
Posh Women are set to travel across the A47 to The Nest where they face Norwich City Women on Sunday afternoon (2pm) in their penultimate game of their pre-season campaign, with the team looking to bounce back after a 3-1 defeat to QPR in their previous friendly.
After a 10th place finish in the Division One South East league last season, The Canaries will be looking to get a kick start on their winning ways in preparation for a new and improved 2022/23 campaign.
Team News
Posh will be without midfielders Megan Parrett, Beatriz Borque, and new signing Eden Bailey for Sunday’s fixture against Norwich. Tara Mae Kirk is also unavailable for this weekend’s game, but she is back in training and has been given the green light for contact from next week.
Defender Kayleigh Aylmer is set to return to the squad, as well as midfielder Stacey McConville and forward Keir Perkins.
From The Gaffer
“I know that I’m leaving for a couple of weeks, but I know they’re in good hands. They know what it is we need to work on, they’re here watching. I’ll be here if they need it, I’m at the other end of the phone. Norwich will provide another excellent test for our players, continuing a tough schedule so far, but more importantly, it’s another 90 minutes in the legs. We have a couple of players returning who will need to get their match fitness up quickly and the game on Sunday will provide that.”
