Posh Women U23s

Peterborough United Women Under 23s are back on the road on Sunday afternoon (2pm) with a trip to The Magpies’ at Digby Street.

The Posh are in form having been unbeaten in their last six competitive matches. Last weekend, they secured a 2-0 victory over Rugby Borough Development with goals from Maddie Moore and Georgie Oliver. Michael Allsebrook’s side now sit fourth in the FAWNL Reserves Midlands table with 14 points from 9 matches.

Meanwhile, the Magpies’ sit one point and one place above Posh. They most recently won 4-1 away at Sutton Coldfield Town Development.

Team News

Allsebrook confirmed that Alicia Podd and Katie Gee are still recovering from injuries whilst Jess Abrantes will be part of the First Team squad on Sunday.

The Magpies’ have netted 28 goals in 14 competitive games so far this campaign. Ella Boden and Brooke Emmerson currently lead the scoring charts with five goals apiece.

From The Gaffer

Allsebrook said: “We are looking forward to Sunday’s game. It’s been a while since we played away from home and it’s a really good opportunity to prove that we can take our good form on the road and continue to bring our levels of good performances that we’ve shown in the last six games. Last week against Rugby was probably my favourite 90 minute performance of the season; the discipline out of possession and the ambition we showed on the ball was brilliant to see.”

“Notts County have been in good form and have showed a massive improvement from last season. We played them earlier in the season but they had a lot of First Team players on that day, and we were proud of how the players matched up to them. We now need to show how much better we have become as a group and see what side they put out. I always say that no away game is easy in this league so we will have to go again and be at our absolute best to secure the result.”
