Posh Women face The Magpies on Wednesday evening.
Peterborough United Women continue their FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands campaign on Wednesday evening (7:45pm) as they face Notts County Women at RM Stadium, the home of Hucknall Town Football Club.
Dan Lawlor’s side will be looking for a positive response after Sunday’s defeat to Loughborough Lightning, with Posh currently sat fourth in the table and four points off the league leaders.
The Magpies, who secured promotion to the FA Women’s National League for the first time this season, have enjoyed a mixed start to the season, picking up two victories in seven games, including coming from 2-0 down to beat Sutton Coldfield last month.
Team News
Forward Zaiga Lacite continued her return to full match fitness on Sunday afternoon, picking up another 15 minutes in the defeat to Loughborough Lightning. Dan Lawlor confirmed, once again, that he has a full squad at his disposal for the trip to Nottingham in midweek.
Tara Kirk has been in brilliant form over the last couple of weeks, netting six goals in the last six games, and will look to continue her form as Posh aim to return to winning ways in the league on Wednesday evening.
From The Gaffer
“As in every game of football, you have to pick yourselves up and go again, we will have to do that on Wednesday. We will need to go there and get a result, which we can get as long as we are ourselves and play our game. We were five games unbeaten and now we have lost two in a row, so if anyone wants to play us, it’s probably right now. But, we just need to focus on what we do and make sure to regroup and try to find a result against a tough Notts County side,” Lawlor said to Posh+.
One To Watch
Forward Emily Brett is the one to watch for Notts County on Wednesday evening. The forward joined The Magpies in the summer from Barnsley Women’s Football Club and has made an instant impact, netting four goals in seven appearances so far in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands.
