Posh Under 18s make a return to Professional Development League action on Saturday (1pm) with Jimmy Unwin’s side looking to make it two wins on the bounce against Burnley.
Burnley provide the opposition for our Under 18s latest Professional Development League test on the weekend, with the Clarets looking to make it five unbeaten in all competitions.
It was success for our youngsters last time out, who came from behind at Ipswich Town to secure their progression to the knockout phases of the PDL Cup thanks to goals from Eddie Fox, Patryk Sykut, Bolu Shofowoke and George Holley.
Our opposition arrive in PE2 on the back of a 2-2 stalemate with Birmingham City on the weekend, with Kian McHahon-Brown and Zach Johnson – who scored a brace when the two sides last met – grabbing the goals for the Clarets.
TEAM NEWS
Max Beech and Milan Kovaci remain the only absentees, while Ben Westcott makes a return to the squad after a short spell on the sidelines.
THE OPPOSITION
Tony Philliskirk’s side currently shadow Sheffield United at the top of the table; a victory on Saturday would see the Clarets leapfrog the Blades on goal difference. Burnley enjoyed a strong start to their campaign, winning six of their opening eight matches to put them in good stead to challenge for top-spot as they look to apply the pressure with a win on Saturday.
FROM THE MANAGER
“I’m looking forward to the game. We’ve not had a game for a while, so we’ve not had the chance to build momentum from the good performance at Ipswich, but we’re looking to add value to that so it’s really important the boys go into the game with massive confidence,” Jimmy Unwin said.
