Peterborough United Under 18s will be looking to table a third consecutive victory when Burnley make the trip south on Tuesday afternoon (1pm).

Posh Under 18s will be hoping to table a third victory on the trot having beaten Birmingham City and Fleetwood Town on the road.

Nathan Aikins led the way for a high scoring afternoon on the west coast, with George Holley, Bolu Shofowoke and Max Beech all adding to their tallies.

Tuesday’s opposition, meanwhile, extended their gap at the top of the table last time around, having recorded a buoyant 5-2 victory over Sheffield United at the Barnfield Training Centre.

Tony Philliskirk’s young Clarets are riding the wave of a nine-game unbeaten streak, having come out on top in each of these outings.

TEAM NEWS

Jimmy Unwin has confirmed his side is light on the ground, having seen a number of faces pick up injuries in recent weeks – with some Under 16s expected to fill in the gaps.

Noah Freeman continues to impress on his loan duties with Bishop’s Stortford and is unavailable.

THE OPPOSITION

Burnley are the current leaders, having picked up 54 points from 23 league matches. The Clarets have seen 17 victories, three draws with as many defeats over the course of the campaign. Philliskirk’s side ran out 2-0 winners in the reverse fixture owing to a Zach Johnson double in Lancashire.

FROM THE MANAGER

Professional Development Phase (Under 18s) Lead Coach Jimmy Unwin said ahead of the game: “It was a good performance against Fleetwood. I was really pleased with the boys, especially the younger lads who performed well within the group, who will need to be prepared for another tough test against Burnley who are top of the league and flying. It will be a tough game – but one we’re looking forward to as usual, and we’re looking to build on the momentum now."
