Peterborough United Under 18s return to Professional Development League Cup action on Saturday (10.30am) as they welcome Luton Town to PE2.
Posh Under 18s will play out their penultimate Group Stage tie on Saturday, with Luton Town the challenge next at hand for the youngsters.
Jimmy Unwin’s side will look to build on the positive performance last time out at Crewe Alexandra, as they picked up a point on the road in a goalless stalemate with the Cheshire outfit.
The Hatters meanwhile make the trip to PE2 on the back of fine form which has seen them unbeaten in six, started by the 6-4 success over Ipswich Town in Saturday’s competition.
TEAM NEWS
Posh Under 18s will be without the services of defender Milan Kovaci who continues his rehabilitation. Kovaci is expected to make his return in the new year.
As well as Kovaci, Bolu Shofowoke also misses out after the in-form forward picked up an injury in recent weeks, he’s expected to make his return to the squad in around two weeks time.
Fabian Claxton returns to the squad after missing out last weekend due to illness.
THE OPPOSITION
Luton Town compete in the southern section of the Youth Alliance League, equivalent to Category Three.
The Hatters sit second after an impressive start to the new term, the only defeat coming against Oxford United where the U’s secured a comfortable opening day victory.
Since then, Joe Deeney’s side have recorded victories over Swindon Town, Exeter City, Bristol Rovers and Cheltenham Town, as well as the point picked up at Plymouth Argyle.
FROM THE MANAGER
“Luton are a very good academy, some good players and I’m looking forward to it because although they’re Category Three, they are a Category Two side really. They have some excellent players and they’re always top of the league if not winning it most years at Category Three,” Unwin said.
