U21s v Wigan Athletic U21s

Posh Under 21s welcome Wigan Athletic Under 21s to the idverde Training Ground for the latest Professional Development League fixture on Tuesday afternoon (1.30pm).

Peterborough United Under 21s host Wigan Athletic Under 21s on Tuesday afternoon in their next Professional Development League test with Ryan Semple's men looking to bounce back following defeat in their last game away to Hull.

Tuesday’s opponents Wigan will be looking to bounce back themselves as they are on a run of three consecutive defeats. Last time out, our opposition were beaten 2-0 as Burnley came away with the three points. Wigan Under 21s are currently managed by Chris Brown with the 32-year-old being in the role since February and they currently find themselves bottom of the league table with just the one win so far this season.

FROM THE MANAGER

Lead Professional Development Coach Ryan Semple has confirmed that the squad for Tuesday’s test will be at full strength and with the absence of first team action midweek he has confirmed that a number of first team squad members could be involved.

Speaking ahead of the game Semple said: “We will be focused on playing to our own strengths, focusing on scoring creating and scoring goals but also focused on being strong defensively. If we manage to get a solid all-round game, then I am confident that a good result can follow. It will be a tough game. We have faced Wigan several times and they pose you lots of questions on the ball alongside really trying to play good football.”
