A look ahead to Saturday’s clash with Bristol Rovers at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday (3pm).
Peterborough United welcome Bristol Rovers to PE2 in Sky Bet League One action on Saturday afternoon (3pm) with Darren Ferguson’s men looking to pick up their first three points at the Weston Homes Stadium.
Posh go into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Lincoln City last time out with Kwame Poku’s goal earning a point with a fine second half strike. Opponents Bristol Rovers were beaten 4-0 by Wigan Athletic at the Memorial Stadium last time out and will be looking to bounce back against Posh.
Posh did the double over the Pirates last season with both games ending in 2-0 victories for Ferguson’s men.
TEAM NEWS
Posh are without defender Rio Adebisi and midfielders Mahamadou Susoho and Ryan De Havilland, although the latter is now back in training and could feature in an Under 21 fixture against Peterborough Sports next Tuesday.
Ferguson hinted in the pre-match press conference that he could make changes to his substitutes with George Nevett and Cian Hayes both missing out on the squad that took on the Imps.
For Bristol Rovers, Moore is suspended having been sent off in the home defeat against Wigan last weekend, with Connor Taylor likely to come into the back three and deputise in his place.
In terms of injuries, Jamie Lindsay made his return from injury last time out, so while the Pirates do come into this game with a clean bill of health it remains to be seen if the manager will look to rotate after his side after the hefty defeat last weekend.
Should he opt to rotate, winger and captain Scott Sinclair could be an option out wide, and Jake Garrett could drop deeper alongside Kamil Conteh should the manager look to bolster the spine of his team.

Promise Omochere
Promise Omochere joined Bristol Rovers from Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed fee in July 2024, signing a three-year contract with the option of a fourth. Born in Dublin, Ireland, Omochere spent time in the St Joseph's Boys and University College Dublin teams at youth level before signing for Bohemians senior team in 2018. He made his debut in September 2018 in a 3-1 win away to St Pat’s, providing an assist in his twelve-minute cameo.
The attacker became a consistent figure in the first team squad at the start of the 2018/19 season, scoring his first league goal for Bohemians in a 5-1 win against Dundalk in May 2021. With eleven goals and eight assists in 55 appearances, Omochere earned a transfer to Fleetwood Town in July 2022. The attacker made an immediate impact, providing an assist on his first League One appearance for the side away to Port Vale.
Omochere became a pivotal figure in the Fleetwood team throughout the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, scoring seven goals in his first campaign in all competitions and six in the next. The 23-year-old joined Rovers with 24 goals in 123 club career appearances to his name.
MANAGER QUOTES
"We need to get a win, we can’t go the whole month without a home win, so we will be doing all we can to get those three points. We need to be a little braver in what we do. We also need to try and get the first goal because if we do that, it will open the game up a little more. Bristol Rovers have recruited well during the summer and were doing well up until last week,” Darren Ferguson said.
