A look ahead to Wednesday night's Sky Bet League One meeting with Burton Albion at the Weston Homes Stadium (7.45pm).
Peterborough United are back in action on Wednesday night as Darren Ferguson's men welcome struggling Burton Albion to the Weston Homes Stadium looking to make it five wins from six in all competitions.
Posh progressed into the third round of the Emirates FA Cup with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Sky Bet League Two side Notts County last time out with Ricky-Jade Jones bagging a brace. Posh will face Premier League side Everton at Goodison Park in the New Year.
Burton were knocked out of the competition by non-league Tamworth with the visitors to the Pirelli progressing on penalty kicks to earn a clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
TEAM NEWS
Defender Emmanuel Fernandez is suspended after collecting his fifth booking of the campaign so George Nevett is on standby to replace him. There are other options for Ferguson though with Jadel Katongo also available to slot in at centre back with Sam Curtis, Jack Sparkes and James Dornelly vieing for the full-back positions.
Hector Kyprianou was a surprise name on the bench at the weekend, but Ferguson confirmed he was named as part of nine substitutes to get him 'back in the environment' after a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury. He was never going to come on against the Magpies but is in the squad to face the Brewers to feature.
Bradley Ihionvien, Jed Steer and Mahamdaou Susoho are unavailable due to injury. Swedish striker Gustav Lindgren is due in England on Thursday and will be available for selection in January.
Midfielder Charlie Webster is suspended for the Brewers, who could make further changes following their cup exit on Sunday.
MANAGER QUOTES
"I watched Burton first hand against Charlton and it was a really tight game. They made it very difficult for Charlton to break through and I am sure they will look to do the same on Wednesday night. I have spoken to the players about ensuring that they don't take their foot off the pedal, this is an important month, we have won four out of five of the last games in all competitions, but we need to put a longer winning run together in the league if we are to move up the table” Darren Ferguson said.
