A look ahead to Tuesday night's Bristol Street Motors Trophy tie with Crystal Palace Under 21s at the Weston Homes Stadium (7pm).
Peterborough United welcome Crystal Palace Under 21s to the Weston Homes Stadium for the final group game of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy on Tuesday evening (7pm) with Darren Ferguson's men knowing that avoiding defeat will secure their progression into the knockout stage of the competition.
In normal circumstances, two wins from two at the start of the trophy would guarantee you progression, but results elsewhere in the group mean Posh are not mathematically through. A win would secure top spot.
If the scores are level after 90 mintues, there will be a penalty shoot-out to decide who gets an extra point.
TEAM NEWS
Posh are without the services of goalkeeper Jed Steer, Hector Kyprianou, Rio Adebisi, Jadel Katongo, Bradley Ihionvien and Mahamadou Susoho for the game due to injury.
Ferguson has confirmed that he is likely to pick the same back five as the one that were in the starting line-up at Newport County but there will be changes further forward.
Crystal Palace could include former Posh Academy graduate Adler Nascimento in their line-up.
MANAGER QUOTES
"We have watched Crystal Palace and they are a strong side in transition and they have a lot of physicality at the top end of the pitch. We know what we have to do, we want to progress as the group winners. Normally two wins would get you through, but we need to finish it off and I will pick a strong side to try and do that,"Darren Ferguson said.
