A look ahead to Saturday's Sky Bet League One clash with Wycombe Wanderers at the Weston Homes Stadium (3pm).
Peterborough United are back in Sky Bet League One action in PE2 on Saturday afternoon with promotion contenders Wycombe Wanderers the opposition at the Weston Homes Stadium.
Darren Ferguson's men go into the game on the back of a 0-0 draw at Blackpool on Tuesday evening while Wycombe strengthened their position in the automatic promotion slots with a comfortable 2-0 victory over struggling Burton Albion.
Posh are currently five points clear of the drop zone ahead of a clutch of games against teams around them including the Cambridgeshire derby at the Cledara Stadium next Saturday.
TEAM NEWS
Posh have received good and bad news on the injury front with Kwame Poku, Carl Johnston and Emmanuel Fernandez all available after a combination of injury and suspension.
However, striker Gustav Lindgren has suffered a hamstring injury and is set to miss four weeks of action.
Wycombe have Xavier Simons back in the squad after suspension while Dan Harvie remains on the sidelines.
MANAGER QUOTE
"Since Mike Dodds came in as manager, Wycombe have actually changed their style a little bit are a little more possession based. They had a right go in the summer to be fair in terms of wages and recruitment and they have had a wonderful season to date. I have a few decisions to make in terms of my selection with a few bodies back, but that is what I want, I want those tough decisions, I haven't been in that position much this season due to injuries," Ferguson said.
ONE TO WATCH
Richard Kone
Richard Kone (pictured below) signed his first professional contract with the Blues in January 2024, having impressed on trial the previous summer.
The Ivorian striker was a prolific goalscorer in the Essex Senior League with Athletic Newham, courting attention from a host of Premier League and EFL clubs. Wanderers won the race for the forward, who was a regular on the scoresheet in practice matches before his deal was finalised.
He burst onto the scene with a goal on his first appearance against West Ham U21s in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, and added three further strikes before also netting on the opening day of the 2024/25 campaign.
