Posh Women Development Squad travel to Coalville Town Ravenettes on Sunday afternoon.
The Posh Women Development Squad return to league action this Sunday (2pm kick-off) as they face bottom of the table Coalville Town Ravenettes at Owen Street Sports Ground in East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League Division One South
Shaun Harley’s side will be looking to return to winning ways having lost 4-0 to Arnold Eagles Ladies in the league cup; albeit with a weakened squad. Posh will be looking to close the gap on leaders Northampton Town, who currently sit four points clear ahead.
Coalville Town Raven Ravenettes are currently bottom of the table and remain winless having shipped 23 goals in just four games.
Team News:
The Development Squad will be light in defence as Hannah Johnson is ruled out with a knee injury and full-back Nicole Hendrick is with the first team. Defender Leah Barnes is a doubt following the back injury she sustained in last weekend’s cup loss at Arnold Eagles.
However, numerous players will be returning to the squad, including captain Hannah Murphy who was unavailable last week due to illness. Emmi Russell and Maddison Moore also return to the squad following lengthy spells on the sideline due to injuries.
From The Gaffer:
“We know full well we will have to work for a win. We will have to be combative and make the most of the chances we create and that’s something which needs improving from last weekend’s defeat to Arnold Eagles. Thankfully, we will have a larger squad than last week as players will be returning from injury and illness. I’m confident if we can continue to deliver what we do in training on matchdays, then we can walk away with the three points."
