They secured a place in the second round having overcome Middlesex Reserves 3-2 on penalties in the determining round before receiving a bye in the first round.
Team News
Michael Allsebrook confirmed that the mini break from action has enabled several players to recover from injuries sustained in recent matches. Full-back Phoebe Richards-Reeves and midfielder Maddie Moore will be assessed before the weekend having both been substituted in the recent draw to Derby County.
Tate Bullen currently leads the MK Dons scoring charts with three goals in five outings this season.
From The Gaffer
Speaking to Posh+ ahead of the game, Allsebrook said: “We love the cup, it gives us a chance to play against a team that we wouldn’t normally play against. MK Dons are local to us; it’s always nice to be in those games. We had a great cup run last year in both the reserves plate and the county cup; and this season is no different. It’s all about the performance and keeping that consistency both on and off the pitch.
“It starts a run of four consecutive games at home which is always a bonus as we play well at home; that showed in our results last season and more recently against Barnsley and Derby. We know how the pitch plays and we’re comfortable here. It’s a league where you have to travel so when you have the luxury of playing at home you’ve got to make the most of it. It starts on Sunday and we will go in with the aim of claiming four wins.”
