The Posh Women look to make it three wins on the bounce in the FA Women’s National League on Sunday (3pm).
Peterborough United Women welcome Burton Albion Women to the Idverde training ground on Sunday afternoon (3pm) as Dan Lawlor’s side look to make it three wins on the bounce in the FA Women’s National league Division One Midlands.
Posh recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this season in the National League after a comfortable 5-1 victory over Bedworth United last weekend, while The Brewers fell to a 3-0 defeat to Long Eaton United Ladies at Grange Park on Wednesday evening.
Team News
Lawlor confirmed that Natalie Hurst is touch and go on whether she will make her debut for the Posh on Sunday after missing the last few fixtures due to a small injury. Stacey McConville remains unavailable for this fixture.
Midfielder Katie Steward is also expected to face a lengthy spell on the side-lines after dislocating her thumb in the victory over Bedworth United on Sunday.
Burton Albion announced the signing of Charlotte Creswell last week as they bolstered their squad ahead a crucial second half of the season.
From the Gaffer
“I am really pleased with everyone since the turn of the year. The attitude has changed and everyone is working hard. Three out of three wins I can take credit for, but I don’t win those games it’s the players. We give them the information to go and win the games, but they put it into practice and they’re the one that deserve the credit, not me.”
“They are a team that are down there, they always want to give that little bit more because no teams want to go down, and when they’re close to that drop zone, teams are going to be unpredictable. It will be a tough game on Sunday, but we are at home, keep doing the right things and I’m sure we will keep getting the results.”
Ticket News
Fans will be able to watch the game at the Idverde training ground. Admission is £3 for adults. To gain access, come to the main gate, where you will be met by a steward and directed where to go.
