A look ahead to the FA Women’s National League fixture against Lincoln United at Deeping Rangers FC on Sunday afternoon (2pm).
Peterborough United Women return to league action as they welcome Lincoln United Women to Deeping Rangers FC on Sunday afternoon (2pm) in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands.
Jake Poole’s side remain undefeated in the league so far after they secured a late 4-3 win over Notts County Women thanks to Lauren Wilshaw’s winning strike at Coronation Park at the beginning of the month.
The Whites are competing in their debut season at tier four, following an impressive 2023/24 campaign in which they were crowned champions of the East Midlands Women's Regional Football League Premier Division, remaining undefeated throughout. They claimed a 3-2 victory over Solihull Moors at home in their latest league fixture and have competed well so far this season.
Team News
Hayley James is a likely contender for Jake Poole’s starting line-up for her first league appearance after being eased into the squad with FA Cup and league cup fixtures. Youngster Macey Bannerman-Lloyd made her first appearance for the club last weekend and Poole is keen to integrate both her and Jessica Abrantes whose been building her fitness back up after injury with the Under 23s.
Poole also confirmed that Frankie Pim has decided to leave the club. Posh Women would like to thank Frankie for all her contributions, on and off the pitch, and wish her all the best in the future.
Lincoln United announced earlier this week that their manager, Chris Funnell, has left the club following a short return to the Women’s First Team and that they will now begin the process of recruiting his successor.
From The Gaffer
Manager Jake Poole said: “We’ve obviously had the chance to look at them [Lincoln] a little bit and we made a lot of changes since last time as well. We go in full of confidence with our league form and that ‘never say die’ attitude that we’ve shown in recent games- I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
“There’s been lots of change and things going on at Lincoln United which is never easy to deal with and that unknown is going to be a bit of a challenge for us this week but they’ve come up into this league, which is a tough league, and they’ve had lots of success last year and it’s hard to adapt, so they’re in a respectable position.”
One To Watch
Lauren Churcher is the one to watch this Sunday after netting 15 overall goals last season, being part of the treble winning side and scoring 3 goals so far for the 2024/25 campaign. Sarah Newton is also a notable signing for Lincoln this summer, who joins The Whites from Derby County.
Last Time Out
An own goal from the visitors and a brace from Keir Perkins saw Posh Women secure a 3-0 victory over Lincoln United at the Abbey Lawn back in August, to progress into the First Round of the FA Women’s National League Cup.

Deeping Rangers FC is a cashless stadium. Tickets are priced at £5 for adults, £4 for seniors, £3 for Under 18s and free admission for Under 14s.
