A look ahead to the FA Women’s National League fixture against The Magpies at the Abbey Lawn on Sunday afternoon (2pm).
Peterborough United Women return to Abbey Lawn on Sunday where they host Notts County Women for their second consecutive home game of 2025.
Jake Poole’s side claimed their first victory of the year last weekend courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Barnsley Women, with Niamh Reynolds and Katie Middleton on the score-sheet.
Posh maintain second place in the table with 34 points after 15 matches, having played more games than the teams around them.
Opponents Notts County are currently in seventh place with 21 points from 13 matches. The Magpies have won seven league games this season including a 2-1 win over Lincoln United last weekend.
Team News
Jake Poole spoke to Posh+ ahead of the game and confirmed that he has a large squad at his disposal despite Hannah Dawbarn, Macey Bannerman-Lloyd and Jess Stanford sidelined with injury.
Tara Kirk and Katie Middleton currently lead the club’s goal-scoring charts with eight goals apiece- the former is four goals away from reaching 50 goals for the club.
From The Gaffer
Jake Poole said: “Notts County have improved year-on-year; they’re a well organised coached team. They clearly did their research in the reverse fixture to stop us and countered with real quality. It’s something we have to be mindful of this time around. Teams are capable of taking points away from anyone in this league.”
One To Watch
Leah Hardy and Jessie Knott are joint top-scorers for the Magpies’ with six goals from 15 and 13 matches respectively.
Last Time Out
The sides met in the reverse fixture back in October at Coronation Park with Posh coming from behind to claim all three points. The hosts were 3-0 up with goals from Shoniqua Barnes, Nicola Russell and Toni McHamilton before Lauren Wilshaw reduced the deficit before half time. Evie Driscoll-King, Renai Bennett were on target in the second half before Wilshaw struck late on to secure victory for Posh.
Ticket News
Tickets are priced at £5 for adults, £4 for seniors, £3 for under 18s and free for under 12s. Supporters can pay by cash or card for the fixture.
