Peterborough United Women look to extend their unbeaten run as they welcome Sutton Coldfield Town FC Women to the Abbey Lawn on Sunday afternoon (2pm) in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands.
Posh Women secured a 2-1 victory over Boldmere St Michaels at Abbey Lawn last weekend, thanks to Tark Kirk and a late goal from Evie Driscoll-King to extend their winning streak in their fourth FAWNL fixture.
The Royals have had a positive start to the 2024/25 campaign and most recently secured a 4-0 victory over Lincoln City at home last Sunday.
TEAM NEWS
Speaking to Posh+ ahead of Sunday’s game, Poole confirmed the squad will be at full strength and that he’ll have some challenging decisions to make.
FROM THE GAFFER
Manager Jake Poole said: “Sutton Coldfield will be another test. They’ve started the season pretty well and they’ve had some mixed results, but they've been really competitive in all their games so they’ll be a different challenge but one we’ll work hard on this week to solve.
“I think until around ten games in we’re not really going to know where teams sit in the league so it’s a good opportunity for us to come up against different challenges but at the same time, we’re true to the way we want to play and that doesn’t change too much so we’ll focus on what we do well- that’s really important for us.”
ONE TO WATCH
Ryan Hamilton’s recent signing Abby Bevan is the one to watch this weekend as the club’s top goalscorer so far this season and joined The Royals from Boldmere St Michaels over the summer.
Additionally, Sarah Lampitt has cemented her place as a standout player, setting a club record with over 146 appearances for Sutton Coldfield.
LAST TIME OUT
Frankie Pim’s first league goal sealed the 2-0 victory for Posh Women at Sutton Coldfield back in January at The Central Ground.
