Posh Women face The Mikes Women on Sunday afternoon in the FA Women’s National League.
Peterborough United Women welcome Boldmere St Michaels to the Abbey Lawn on Sunday (2pm) in a FA Women’s National League Division One fixture as they look to make it four on the bounce in all competitions.
Dan Lawlor’s side secured a 1-0 victory over Solihull Moors Women last weekend after a late goal from captain Keir Perkins, maintaining their unbeaten status at Abbey Lawn in the league campaign and back-to-back clean sheets at home.
The Mikes Women are currently sat fifth in the table, seven points behind league leaders Loughborough Lightning, but were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Northampton Town Women in their last league fixture.
Team News
Dan Lawlor has confirmed that he has a full squad at his disposal, with no fresh injury concerns heading into this Sunday’s fixture against The Mikes Women. Forward Keir Perkins has been in brilliant form over the last few weeks, scoring three goals in two games, and will look to continue that heading into November.
Boldmere St Michaels welcomed a host of new arrivals in the summer, including goalkeeper Jodie Whiteman from Rugby Borough - formerly known as Coventry United - and was one of their standout performers during the FA Women’s Championship campaign last season.
From The Gaffer
“Last week was a different type of win. I thought the performance was really good, but we had to win a bit ugly and a little scrappy and we missed plenty of good opportunities, so I’m very pleased they found a way to get the three points. I’m proud of how we are going at the minute, but it’s one game and we have a very tough game against Boldmere coming up. They have got a lot of new players, so when you have a new squad, it will take time to gel together. However, once they get that right, I think they could be a force this season. It’s another tough game, but as I have said previously, I feel it is going to take a very good team to beat us.”

Forward Gabriella Maia is one to watch ahead of this weekend’s visit from Boldmere St Michaels Women and is the club’s leading goalscorer in all competitions so far this season. Maia netted twice in their 4-0 victory over Oughtibridge War Memorial despite coming off the bench.
