Posh Women host Hashtag United Women in their latest pre-season friendly at Abbey Lawn on Sunday afternoon (2pm).
Peterborough United Women welcome Tier 3 side Hashtag United FC Women to Abbey Lawn on Sunday (2pm) in their latest friendly of their pre-season schedule.
Last weekend, Posh faced Tier 3 side Wolverhampton Wanderers Women where fans welcomed both new and old faces back to Abbey Lawn. Poole’s side fought hard against the higher-opposition but fell to a 3-1 defeat despite Renai Bennett heading home to give Posh an early lead.
Opponents Hashtag United finished runners up in their first season in the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division with 52 points, nine points behind Portsmouth FC Women who were promoted to the Barclays Women's Championship.
The 2023/24 campaign was one for The Tags to remember after they came from behind to beat Newcastle United and win the FA Women’s National League Cup at Kenilworth Road (2-1). They also cruised to a 7-1 win over Billericay to lift the Essex Women’s Cup.

From the Gaffer
Poole said: “We’ve said to the girls that we really want to challenge them this pre-season to see where we’re at. We played really well against Wolves- the girls should be proud. They stood up against an experienced and high quality Wolves team- they competed really well.
“We’ve obviously still got a couple of faces to come in like Macey [Bannerman-Lloyd] and Hannah [Dawbarn] in the next couple of weeks there will be plenty of time to them to learn the way we play and for them to blend in with the girls- I’m looking forward to developing further what we’ve already started.
“It’s brilliant at Abbey Lawn- a really good pitch, good atmosphere, there was a great atmosphere for a pre-season game.”
