Posh Women face The Dons on Wednesday evening in their third game of pre-season.
Peterborough United Women continue their pre-season schedule on Wednesday evening (7:45pm) as they face FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division side MK Dons Women at the Abbey Lawn.
MK Dons compete in the same league as previous opponents Ipswich Town, finishing in fifth place last season. The Dons are preparing for another season in the Southern Premier League having signed former Swindon Town midfielder Megan Attenborough. MK Dons Women have begun their pre-season strongly with a 6-0 win over recently promoted side Notts County whom Posh will come against this season.
The Posh suffered a 4-1 defeat to Ipswich Town Women at the weekend, with Dan Lawlor's side matching them for the opening 40 minutes. New signing Alex O’Neill scored her first goal for the club with a fantastic finish from the edge of the box.
Team News
Posh continue to be without long-term absentees Eden Bailey and Zaiga Lacite. Jess Evans also remains sidelined after suffering an injury at the beginning of pre-season. Dan Lawlor will be utilising the u23s squad with Edyn Osker and Poppie Brown set to be included in the matchday squad once again.
From The First Team Coach
First Team Coach, Harry Mclean said: “We matched a top three league side for 60 minutes last weekend. Unfortunately, little moments caused us to concede the goals and a team like Ipswich punished us. We’ve had two good challenges so far this pre-season with varied playing styles, and that will continue next with another tough side MK Dons.”
“Results don’t really matter during pre-season. Obviously, the score lines tell a story but ultimately as long as we are improving in our performances against these top teams then we feel it puts us in a good position when it comes to playing teams in our league.”
Ticket News
Tickets are priced at £5 for adults, £4 for seniors, £3 for under 18s and free for under 12s. Supporters can pay by cash or card on the game.
