Posh Women face local rivals Northampton Town Women to the Abbey Lawn.
Peterborough United Women are set to welcome local rivals Northampton Town Women to the Abbey Lawn on Wednesday evening (7:45pm) in the FA Women's National League Division One Midlands.
Dan Lawlor’s side were condemned to a 1-0 defeat to Doncaster Rovers Belles on Sunday, while Northampton Town Women recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this season after a 2-0 win over Sheffield FC in FAWNL Plate.
Team News
Posh will be without midfielders Beatriz Borque and Stacey McConville for this midweek fixture. However, defender Kayleigh Alymer returns to the squad after missing the game against Doncaster Rovers Belles at the weekend.
A few players from the Development Squad could be in contention to receive a call-up for Wednesday’s game.
The Cobblers’ signed a number of players over the summer after securing promotion to tier-four for the first-time in their history, including striker Kimberley Farrow who netted in the victory over Sheffield FC at the weekend.
From The Gaffer
“It will be a really tough game for us. They’re coming off the back of some wins, so they’ll have their tails up a little bit, and we’re a bit deflated. We have to make sure we turn up with the right attitude and do the right things. It's a big game against a local rival, so I’m sure we will. If we turn up, we play the game properly and do what we’re good at, I have no doubt that we can hurt them, and hopefully, we can come away with the three points.”
Ticket News
Tickets are priced at £4 for adults, £3 for seniors, £2 for under 18s and free for under 12s. Supporters will be able to pay on the gate.
