Posh Women face Norwich City Women on Sunday afternoon.
Peterborough United Women continue their pre-season programme on Sunday afternoon (2pm) as they welcome fellow FA Women’s National League Division One side Norwich City Women to the Abbey Lawn.
Dan Lawlor’s side were pegged back on two occasions in their 3-3 with MK Dons Women on Wednesday evening, with Keir Perkins, Jess Driscoll and Megan Lawlor all on the scoresheet for Posh.
The Canaries, who compete at the same level as Posh but in the South East Division, finished their 2022/23 campaign in fourth place, with Natasha Snelling netting 14 goals in 21 appearances last season.
Team News
Midfielder Rosie Axten is expected to return to the squad for this weekend’s clash against The Canaries after the 3-3 draw with MK Dons Women. A number of under 23s will be involved, with Sam Davis set to return after she made her debut for the first team last weekend against Ipswich Town.
Posh remain without Eden Bailey, Jess Evans, Tara Kirk and Zaiga Lacite for this weekend’s visit from The Canaries.
From First Team Coach
Adam Timson said: “It was positive on Wednesday and something we can build on. We had to change the shape and have been working on a few things, but we got players forward more and create more opportunities. I believe we will score plenty of goals this season if we can continue to replicate that performance against MK Dons.
“The game on Wednesday was winnable and we got unlucky. So, we will look to regroup ahead of the match against Norwich and it will obviously be nice to pick up a result, but we just want to build on the last performance and continue to build fitness in the players.”
Ticket News
Tickets are priced at £5 for adults, £4 for seniors, £3 for under 18s and free for under 12s. Supporters can pay by cash or card on the game.
