Peterborough United Women travel to Studley Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon (3pm) as they face Solihull Moors in their latest FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands fixture.
Posh Women will look to continue their winning streak after they secured a 5-2 victory over Sutton Coldfield Town at Abbey lawn last weekend, thanks to a brace from Perkins and goals from Lawlor, Wilshaw and Pim.
The Moors currently sit seventh in the table and most recently were defeated 2-0 by Barnsley Women at home.
There will be a minute silence prior to kick-off this Sunday in memory of Maddy Cusack. Maddy's legacy lives on through the The Maddy Cusack Foundation, which is making a real difference in women’s football and encouraging young people to speak openly about mental health.
TEAM NEWS
Speaking to Posh+ ahead of Sunday’s game, Poole confirmed that Tara Kirk will remain sidelined due to injury but was pleased to inform that he has some returning faces including Macey Bannerman-Lloyd in contention for Sunday’s squad.
FROM THE GAFFER
Manager Jake Poole said: “Going away from home always poses different challenges with different pitches and different opposition, but we need to keep focusing on one game at a time. We’ve had a great start to the season but we need to focus on Solihull before anything else.”
“We don’t know too much about them, again they’re another team that have changed a lot of faces this season and they’ve been really respectable in all their games so far, but maybe had a bit more of a challenging start than previous years- they’ll pose different threats and challenges that we’ll look to overcome.”
ONE TO WATCH
Tom Blaymires’ side welcomed thirteen new players this season, including the club’s current top goalscorer, Macy Winters from Stourbridge FC Women.
LAST TIME OUT
Posh secured a cracking victory on Easter Sunday as they came from behind to beat The Moors 4-3, with an injury time winner from Frankie Pim completing the comeback at Studley Sports Centre.
