Peterborough United Women Under 23s are back on the road on Sunday afternoon (2pm) with a trip to The Potters’ at Clayton Wood Training Ground.

The Posh will be looking to build on last weekend’s result as they picked up their first point of the season away as they drew 1-1 against Doncaster Belles Reserves courtesy of a stoppage time free-kick from Kendal O’Connor.

Meanwhile, The Potters’ have won two of their opening three league games this season including a 10-0 win over Boldmere St Michael’s Development.

Team News

Allsebrook confirmed that he has a large squad to select from with Katie Gee the only player absent. Poppy Clapson returns from injury.

The Potters’ have netted 17 goals in four competitive games so far this campaign with Ruby Millington currently leading their goalscoring charts with six goals from four games.

From The Gaffer

Allsebrook said: “We were really pleased to pick up our first point of the season last week. Whilst the performance was not perfect, to pick up points when you are not at your best is always pleasing and shows the heart and desire we have within the group. They are determined to perform at their best each week and we know that eventually that will bring us the results our efforts deserve. Defensively we were much better and that is something we are continuing to work on.

“Stoke proved last season that they have the talent to threaten you in a number of ways. We went there last season off the back of the cup final and ultimately didn’t do ourselves justice. We know we have to be better this time around but we have the quality within the squad to go there and perform well.”
