Team News

Speaking to Posh+ ahead of the game, Poole confirmed he has a strong squad at his disposal. Ellie York and Jess Stanford remain sidelined as they recover from their ACL injuries; the former began returning to running during pre-season. Defender Jess Abrantes is also unavailable as they continue to recover from a recent injury, though her Under 23s teammates Edyn Osker and Ella-Mai Bale could feature after impressing during pre-season.

Keir Perkins is set to skipper the side in her tenth season with the Posh whilst several new signings could make their competitive debut for the club.

From The Gaffer

“There’s some really good work that’s been done at this football club to get where we are today. I want to take this team to the next level. The squad has worked really hard in pre-season and embraced the changes over the summer. I think the squad is nicely balanced; they’re a young group whilst still maintaining the experience from this level as well as from the tier above.

“Worcester have come out of a tough league last year. They look to be a really positive and progressive club with good facilities. It’s going to be a challenge against them – there are obviously things we know about them but things we don’t. That allows us to focus on ourselves a little more. The aim is to always try to get three points. A win would be nice to take into a tough run of fixtures that we open with.”
