A look ahead to Saturday's clash with Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park on Saturday lunchtime (12.30pm).
Peterborough United are back out on the road this weekend with a trip to Buckinghamshire to face Wycombe Wanderers in Sky Bet League One action (12.30pm) with Darren Ferguson's men looking to build on the positive performance against Rotherham United last time out.
Ferguson's young charges came from 3-1 down to earn a point against the Millers thanks to an Emmanuel Fernandez header. The Chairboys have gone a little under the radar with their start and Matt Bloomfield's men sit in a strong position in the table after recent victories.
TEAM NEWS
Posh welcome back midfielder Archie Collins from suspension while striker Bradley Ihionvien got an hour under his belt for the Under 21s this week and is available for selection. Hector Kyprianou, Mahamadou Susoho, Chris Conn-Clarke and Jadel Katongo are unavailable due to injury though.
Wycombe forward Brandon Hanlan is making progress in his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, but the striker remains unavailable for Saturday's home fixture.
The hosts are also without the services of Ryan Tafazolli and Sam Vokes, who have been out of action since August due to injury.
Richard Kone will given the responsibility of leading the line, with the striker looking to add to the three goals that he has scored this season.
ONE TO WATCH
Kieran Sadlier
Wanderers were thrilled to announce the signing of Kieran Sadlier on a free transfer following his release from Bolton Wanderers in the summer of 2023. The livewire forward became Matt Bloomfield’s 12th new signing of the summer after passing his medical and putting pen to paper on his contract at Marlow Road.
A former Republic of Ireland youth international, Kieran developed through the academy system at Cambridge and West Ham before kicking off his senior career with St Mirren in Scotland.
After a short spell with Peterborough, he moved the top flight in Ireland and starred for both Sligo Rovers and Cork City, earning a move to Doncaster in 2019, scoring 15 times in a season and a half, including one against Wycombe in February 2020.
His form earned attention from a host of Championship clubs and it was Rotherham who secured his signature in 2020, before he switched to Bolton in January 2022, scoring nine times before spending the second half of last season as a regular in the side at League 2 champions Leyton Orient.
He scored his first goal in the 1-0 Trophy win over AFC Wimbledon at Adams Park and became a regular in the attack for the remainder of the season.
MANAGER QUOTES
"Whenever you got to Adams Park, you know you are in for a tough game and more than ever this season because Wycombe have recruited very well. I think they have gone under the radar a bit. They play a lot more football, they have players who have been there quite a while now and we don't have a particularly good record there," Darren Ferguson said.
