The Peterborough United under 21s are back in Professional Development League action on Friday afternoon (1pm) at the idverde Training Ground with high-flying Sheffield Wednesday the visitors.
The Owls currently sit inside the top three of the division and will provide a tough test for Ryan Semple’s men, who could have a number of first team players in their ranks including midfielder Jeando Fuchs, who is expected to get his first 90 minutes after a long injury lay-off.
Semple said: “Sheffield Wednesday are a strong side, they are going well in the league, they have a lot of athleticism in their team and have a number of players that are in and around their first team squad. Like ourselves, they have a lot of talented young players, and we will be looking to put in a good performance.
“We have Jeando with us and the plan is for him to get his first 90 minutes and then there are one or two others who could be involved. We have a busy few days because we have another game on Monday at Wigan Athletic before a little break over the Christmas period so we want to finish this little block of fixtures on a positive.”
