It has been a busy week for the Posh Foundation with fun days taking place at a couple of venues and there were visits from men’s and women’s players.
The half-term Fun Days, which are run by the Posh Foundation, are always hugely popular and this week has been no different, with sessions at the Nene Valley Community Centre on Sugar Way and in the indoor dome at the idverde Training Ground.
Throughout the week, there have been visits from players from both the men’s and women’s teams alongside the always popular Peter Burrow. Women’s skipper and record goal-scorer Keir Perkins met participants in the dome, posing for pictures and completing a question-and-answer session while under 21s full-back and Hungary under 19 international János Bodnár popped down later that day, signing autographs as well as answering questions about his progress from within the Academy.
At the Nene Valley Community Centre, women’s midfielder Jess Evans was in attendance, signing autographs, posing for pictures and completing a short question and answer session. Around half an hour later, Posh goalkeepers Will Norris and Will Blackmore popped down and, alongside PFA representative Dave Palmer, were on hand to sign programmes and discuss their progress in the game and what they hope to achieve.
Press Officer Phil Adlam said: “It has been a bit of a tricky week in terms of the schedule, but it is important to support the wonderful work that the Foundation undertake and try and get players out and about as much as we can because we know the impact they have and the response that they get from the youngsters on the Fun Days.
“It is also important for us as a club to utilise the women’s squad for personal appearances as they too are wonderful role models for youngsters across the city. Whenever we do personal appearances for the fan base, we will always try and ensure there are players from both the men’s and women’s squad in attendance, just like the shop signing sessions we have done in the past and will continue to do.”
Jack Taylor, Ephron Mason-Clark, Cassie Steward and Lucie Mugridge will be in the Club Shop from 4pm until 5pm on Thursday 16th February.
