The football club are now in a position to confirm their Retained List following the conclusion of the 2023-2024 campaign.
Following the conclusion of the Sky Bet League One campaign, Peterborough United can confirm the Retained List with a number of players including striker Jonson Clarke-Harris released following the end of their deals in PE2.
Clarke-Harris enjoyed a superb spell at the club after arriving from Bristol Rovers, winning back-to-back Sky Bet League One Golden Boots and leaves in fifth position in the all-time Posh Football League top scorer list with 78 goals in 166 appearances.
Manager Darren Ferguson said: "Jonson has been a great signing. He played such a pivotal role in us getting promoted, scored quite a few goals in the Championship and has made such a huge impact on what we have done in recent years.
"Of course, at the start of this season, we felt he would be leaving twice, particularly the first window, but stayed and by that time I had made my mind up that I wanted to go in a different direction. It was difficult for him at times because he wants to play games, but he understood it and I have to say he has been fantastic in the dressing room, fantastic for me, he has been a real help because he has never caused a problem and I think we have a lot of respect for each other. I wish him all the best, I am sure he will get a good move and he deserves it. He will never be forgotten for what he did here."
Midfielder Jeando Fuchs also departs the football club after a stop-start campaign due to injuries. "We certainly missed Jeando in certain games this season because he is different to what we have. He really understood how I wanted him to play the position, it took him a while because his game is all about energy and running around, where i wanted them to play it differently, but he is a brilliant lad, we just couldn't offer him anything. He understands that. I firmly believe Jeando will get a good club and we wish him well."
Goalkeeper Fynn Talley has also been released and Ferguson confirmed that Jed Steer has been offered a new deal, as has defender Josh Knight. A number of other players will enter contract talks over the summer as they move towards their final years of contract.
A clutch of other players from the Under 21s and those on Scholarships have been released and we thank them for their efforts on behalf of the football club.
Posh have made a number of players available for transfer including defender Romoney Crichlow and winger David Ajiboye.
The club would also like to thank the three loan players who have now returned to their parent clubs for all their efforts and wish them well for the future.
