Posh suffer 1-0 defeat to Burton Albion at the Weston Homes Stadium thanks to a solitary strike in the second half.
Peterborough United suffered a disappointing home defeat to struggling Burton Albion at the Weston Homes Stadium on Wednesday evening with Mason Bennett scoring the only goal of the game midway through the second half.
It was a night where Posh struggled to create anything in front of goal with Malik Mothersille's effort from distance, which was kept out by goalkeeper Max Crocombe, the only shot on goal.
Mason Bennett saw a shot saved by Nick Bilokapic on 16 minutes before a decisive moment in the game as Kwame Poku saw a goalbound shot kept out by the hands of Crocombe outside of the box. The referee failed to spot the incident and waved play on with Poku leaving the fray moments later due to a potential hamstring injury.
Bilokapic beat away a fierce drive from Kalinauskus on 24 minutes before the first half drew to a close.
Posh made changes to get back into the game, but the goal came for the visitors as BENNETT took advantage of poor defending to curl a shot into the back of the net.
Chauke fired over on 66 minutes with Mothersille's effort from range on 80 minutes claimed by the keeper. Three minutes of added time was indicated with the Brewers seeing out the game comfortably.
