Posh fight back to earn a share of the spoils at the Lamex Stadium following eventful encounter.
Peterborough United picked up a deserved point from the Sky Bet League One fixture at Stevenage with Darren Ferguson's men securing a 2-2 draw thanks to a late Ricky-Jade Jones' goal effort after Joel Randall had reduced the deficit after the hosts found themselves two goals to the good.
Posh made a bright start to the contest and created a host of chances in front of goal with Kwame Poku seeing a close-range header saved by Ashby-Hammond after good work from Ephron Mason-Clark and Josh Knight heading over from close-range.
Posh had appeals for a spot-kick waved away after a foul on Mason-Clark with Hector Kyprianou seeing a shot blocked before the hosts opened the scoring against the run of play through a fine JAMES-WILDIN strike.
The hosts doubled their lead and it was inevitable that it would be a former Posh man to find the back of the net, Ben THOMPSON firing home after Posh failed to sufficiently clear a Dan Butler cross.
Posh struck the woodwork following a goal-mouth scramble while Peter Kioso and Ronnie Edwards both went close from distance.
In the second half, Stevenage were forced into a change as Nathan Thompson was caught by a sweet Poku effort in the face with the former Posh man understandably needing to be replaced.
Posh halved the deficit through Joel RANDALL as he flicked the ball into the bottom corner after a cross from Jones.
Posh continued to dominate, Mason-Clark saw a strike parried to safety by Ashby-Hammond, Kioso was also denied by the keeper while Poku headed wide.
On 80 minutes, Posh got the leveller they deserved as a cross to the back post was chested down and stabbed goalwards by Edwards with JONES getting the final touch.
