The fixture with Shrewsbury on Saturday has been postponed following an inspection at Friday lunchtime.
Peterborough United’s Sky Bet League One fixture with Shrewsbury Town at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday afternoon has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.
Local official Neil Hair came to inspect the surface on Friday and deemed the pitch unplayable and with the forecasted overnight temperatures, there would be no chance of improvement.
The club have had the pitch covered during this cold snap, but with temperatures reaching -8 on several nights and a maximum of -5 on others, it was always a losing battle that was being faced.
A new date for the fixture is yet to be confirmed. Any tickets purchased for this game will be valid for the re-arranged date.
The ticket office will now be closed on Saturday.
