Foundation August

The summer months are always a busy time for Peterborough United Foundation, with a whole host of sessions taking place to cater for the needs of as many people as we can.

Our Kellogg’s Football Camps have been running since the conclusion of the school year and have proved to be as popular as ever, with hundreds of children coming to spend their summer holidays with us.

Prior to the summer holidays, we welcomed several of our partners for stadium tours. In July, we welcomed Barnardos, Stanground Academy, Hampton College, Hampton Gardens School, Arthur Mellows Village College for tours, and also visited them to deliver coaching sessions to their students.

Scholarship Pre-Season is now upon us and our boys’ and girls’ scholars have been joined by our prospective first years for training and their first round of pre-season games. Our Boys A Team beat Burton Albion 6-4, whilst the B Team were 6-0 victors over Stevenage. Our Girls Scholarship Team were narrowly beaten by Barking Abbey in their opening game but showed plenty of promise against a side who competed at the top end of the National Football Youth League’s Women’s Premier Division last term.

Our boys’ coaches have been delivering sessions over the summer in the form of group football sessions for boys from U8 – U16. These sessions have proved to be extremely popular, and we’ve seen record numbers of attendees across the summer to date.

Over the next month, we’ll be continuing our Health & Wellbeing offering, which includes chair-based exercise, yoga, walking football and our Extra Time Hubs – of which we have just launched three new weekly hubs.

We’ve also launched a revolutionary fundraising app which links Peterborough United Football Club’s successes to Peterborough United Foundation’s impact. For more info and to download the app, click here.

We’re on the lookout for a Health & Wellbeing Co-Ordinator to join our dedicated team at Peterborough United Foundation. The purpose of the job is to work to help with delivery of the Community strategy for Peterborough United Foundation to ensure that all aspects and key themes are delivered to a high standard.
