Posh Foundation January

2025 is well underway and Peterborough United Foundation have been working hard to make a positive impact on the lives of our local community.

Before Christmas, Peterborough United Foundation’s scholars made a food bank donation. Each player brought in at least one item each, with over 70 meals worth of food being donated between them.

With the help of Sport England funding, The Posh Foundation are pleased to offer two FREE additional weekly Yoga sessions, both taking place at Orton Wistow Community Centre. These sessions join with the Foundation’s Yoga United sessions in an increase in offering. Sessions take place on Monday evenings, Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons.

In January, they also launched details of their second Big Sleep Out event, in partnership with Light Project Peterborough. On Friday 14th March 2025, participants will sleep out at the Weston Homes Stadium to give an insight into what homeless people experience every night. If you’d like to sign up for the Sleep Out or donate to their fundraising efforts, you can find all the information here.

Peterborough United Foundation’s Mindful Motion group welcomed Faustina Yang to their session at the end of January for a Tai Chi taster session, as part of their Chinese New Year celebrations.

In addition, they also held their second LGBTQ+ matchday at Posh’s recent victory over Wigan Athletic, in partnership with the Premier League Fans Fund. The Foundation have undertaken several initiatives aimed at creating an inclusive environment, raising awareness, and creating meaningful engagement within the LGBTQ+ community. These efforts have been community-focused, encompassing physical activities, workshops, matchday initiatives and celebratory events.

In February, the Foundation will be celebrating the Premier League’s More Than A Game campaign, appointing a community captain and continuing their hard work with the PL Kicks and Primary Stars initiatives.

Between 6th to 17th February, in celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, the English Football League (EFL) and Official Match Ball partners, PUMA have revealed an all-new Rainbow match ball, which serves as a reminder that football is for everyone, everywhere.

The February Half Term is fast approaching, and The Posh Foundation are hosting their usual Holiday Camps at the idverde Training Ground. These camps are the perfect place for your football loving children to enjoy their time off school! To book your child’s place, click here.
