Peterborough United Girls Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) roundup from the week commencing Monday 6th February.
In the week, the under 16s team played against Northampton Town ETC at home on Wednesday (8th February) evening and won 5-1. Frankie Pimm scored a hattrick against the cobblers and the other goals came from Rebecca Mears and Poppie Brown. The player of the match was awarded to Bronte Cooper.
ETC Manager, Chloe Brown, stated: "There was great support from all around, from our sponsors, from the development squad and some first team players to cheer the girls on too. The girls dominated the game very well which resulted in there deserved to win."
An announcement was also made that a new academy will be introduced for the 2023/24 season, which would see the inclusion of an under 7s and under 8s age group to join alongside the current U9s-U16s, while the Development Squad will be rebranded as the under 23s.
Brown added: "Everyone involved with our ETC is excited about the changes to a new girls' academy in the area. This will give girls with potential the opportunity to train in a good environment in the area regardless of their age. We are already making preparations for next season and look forward to seeing more girls join us and progress through our pathway."
ETC player Ellie Curson also made her FA Women’s National League debut last Sunday, coming on as a substitute in the 83rd minute in the first team’s 2-0 win over Sporting Khalsa.
