Posh were held to a 1-1 draw by Leyton Orient at the Weston Homes Stadium in Sky Bet League One action.
Peterborough United were made to pay for a first half lacking in urgency and tempo as Leyton Orient earned a point from a 1-1 draw at the Weston Homes Stadium with Hector Kyprianou’s effort cancelled out by Omar Beckles.
It was a slow, cagey opening to the game with a booking for defender Peter Kioso for a foul on Archibald. Kwame Poku saw an effort blocked after good work from the on-loan Rotherham United man before Josh Knight’s low shot was gathered by Brynn.
The deadlock was broken on 20 minutes as a corner kick from Harrison Burrows was headed back across goal and KYPRIANOU was there to get the final touch against his former club. Jonson Clarke-Harris saw a header claimed by the keeper before the visitors got themselves on level terms as Jordan Graham’s cross was headed home by BECKLES.
A pass forward from Ronnie Edwards was headed on by Clarke-Harris into the path of Kioso on 39 minutes, but his stinging drive was parried by the keeper. Darren Pratley was cautioned for a foul on Burrows before the break with Posh boss Darren Ferguson making two changes at the break as Joel Randall and David Ajiboye were introduced into the action.
Mason-Clark saw an acrobatic effort tipped over by Brynn on 57 minutes following a deep cross before Graham curled an effort over at the other end. Kyprianou was cautioned for a foul as Posh tried to find a winner, but just three minutes of added time was indicated by the fourth official and the game ended in a draw.
Manager Darren Ferguson said: “There was no urgency in the first half, no tempo to the game, even when we got ourselves ahead. It was a really poor goal to concede as well. Josh Knight played with urgency and intent, he was our best player by an absolute mile. We can’t let games pass us by, we need to be assertive.”
