A successful night at the EFL Awards for the football club as Harrson Burrows and Ronnie Edwards scoop big prizes.
Peterborough United skipper Harrison Burrows was named the Sky Bet League One Player of the Season and centre back Ronnie Edwards scooped the Sky Bet League One Young Player of the Season at the prestigious EFL awards, which were held in London on Sunday evening.
Burrows was also named in the Sky Bet League One Team of the Season with Ephron Mason-Clark the second representative from PE2 in that line-up.
Manager Darren Ferguson lost out to Portsmouth chief John Mousinho in the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Season category.
It capped a pretty good few weeks for the skipper Burrows. After scoring twice, including a last-minute winner, to secure the Bristol Street Motors Trophy at Wembley Stadium, he was then involved in all three goals in the win against Port Vale a few days later.
With assists galore as well as a pretty good record in terms of scoring, Burrows was an obvious choice for the slot at left-back in the Team of the Year and fought off competition from Marlon Pack and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing to scoop the Player of the Season gong.
Meanwhile, Edwards followed up the monthly Young Player of the Month award he scooped back In January with the seasonal award, fighting off competition from Blackpool winger Karamoke Dembele and Wigan Athletic defender Charlie Hughes.
The England Men's Elite Squad skipper has again enjoyed a superb campaign at the heart of the Posh defence and thoroughly deserves his award.
We will bring you reaction from both of them on Posh+ and across the website on Monday.
Well done guys!
