Level Playing Field

The Level Playing Field Unite For Access campaign is an annual period of inspiration and celebration of good access and inclusion at sports venues.

As part of our continuing commitment to EDI we will bringing our supporters with disabilities and hidden disabilities together on Thursday 6th March with the key aim of improving the matchday experience. The Disability Supporters Group meeting will take place at the Weston Homes Stadium at 3pm and prior booking is required.

The Disability Supporters Group aims to represent the needs and interests of supporters with additional needs, working together with us for better accessibility, inclusive facilities and creating a positive matchday experience. The group will raise awareness about the challenges faced by supporters with a disability or hidden disability, working together and enabling us to better meet the needs of our supporters.

Martyn Kelsey, Head of Operations and Disability Access Officer commented: “Here at Peterborough United we are constantly striving to create the best matchday experience for all.  As the DAO, it is essential that I drive the club forward in its approach to meeting the needs of all individuals and ensuring that those with additional needs are catered for to our best ability and therefore creating an inclusive and enjoyable environment for all.”

Jan, parent and Posh season ticket holder, who will be attending the meeting commented: “My son has been able to have a carer attend matches, for free, and this enables him to attend and remain safe, whilst enjoying the environment of the stadium.

“Those near him, other fans, and stewards are supportive of his needs. We are in the front row of the Meerkat Family Stand and one of the guys who sits near us said it’s the front row family and it certainly feels like that.”

Peterborough United continues to be committed to making matchdays inclusive and enjoyable for all. If you would like to be part of the meeting, please email dsa@theposh.com.
