Posh U18s face The Royals on Saturday afternoon.
Peterborough United U18s return to action in the Under-18 Professional Development League on Saturday afternoon (12pm) as they travel to Bearwood Park Training Facility to face Reading FC.
Jamal Campbell-Ryce’s men suffered their first defeat in eleven games in their previous league game as Bristol City netted the winner in the final seconds of the game to claim a 3-2 victory at idverde Training Ground.
Posh remain in contention for a second-place finish in the table, but are seven points behind Sheffield United having played the same number of games. Campbell-Ryce was disappointed to see their winning run come to an end last time out, but is hoping to see a reaction from his squad.
Speaking ahead of the game, Campbell-Ryce said: “It has been great to have a couple more days off this week, we had the under 16s with us and they got to see how we worked on a day-to-day basis. So, it has been brilliant to have a full squad to allow us to get our principles across. It was a disappointing result in our last game, but all the best teams lose and I think it would be good for the players to see what their character is like going into the next game.
“Our messages stay consistent, go and compete, win the first and second balls and then play our style of football. Teams will know how we will play now and they might set-up differently which is completely fine, but it’s about us having that quality and bravery while not getting drawn into the opposition style of play.”
Updates of the game will be provided as much as possible on The Posh Academy Twitter account (@theposhacademy).
