Posh U18s face The Robins in the Professional Development League on Saturday.
Peterborough United U18s travel to Robins High Performance Centre on Saturday morning (11am) as they face Bristol City in the Under-18 Professional Development League.
The under 18s will be searching for their first victory in the league campaign this weekend and looking for a reaction after last weekend’s heavy defeat to Watford U18s at the idverde Training Ground.
The Robins are unbeaten in their opening four games and are currently sat at the top of the South division, most recently, beating Wigan Athletic 1-0. U18s Professional Development Phase Coach, Hugh Alban Jones, wants to see the fundamentals in the performance this weekend but is expecting another tough test against The Robins.
Jones said: “We will be looking for a reaction from last weekend’s result and performance and want to start to see the fundamentals that we go on about. We have spoken about them during the week to make sure we are competing, winning the first and second balls, helping eachother out as a team and putting on a collective team performance, so that’s the bare minimum we will be looking for. Hopefully, after that, we can impact the game with our style of play and the individual quality we have within our team.
“We know they will be very competitive, fight for every ball and like to play quite direct into their forwards. They have runners going forward and that’s something we will have to be prepared to deal with in terms of our centre-backs winning first contact or our midfielders picking up the second ball. However, we know they will be very competitive and will be another tough game."
