Posh U18s secure point after a 2-2 draw with Sheffield United.
Peterborough United U18s came from behind to pick up their first point of the Under-18s Professional Development League campaign on Saturday morning, with Harley Mills and Ollie Rose netting the goals.
Sheffield United U18s scored twice inside the opening 20 minutes, but The Blades were pegged back in the second half as Mills converted from the spot before Ollie Rose’s header secured a point for Posh.
The hosts opened the scoring on nine minutes as some slack play from Posh saw Stafford Clarke nicked the ball on the edge of the box before slotting home the opener. The Blades doubled their lead just five minutes later as Billy Blacker converted from the edge of the box.
Sam Aston was denied one-on-one by Jake West before Blacker rolled an effort just wide. Posh enjoyed a good spell after the break and struck the woodwork as a header hit the crossbar.
Posh were awarded a penalty on 65 minutes as Mills was brought down inside the box by the goalkeeper, the defender stepped up to take the spot-kick and fired his effort into the bottom corner.
With just over five minutes left on the clock, Posh levelled the scoring as Rose met Mills’ corner and guided his header into the far corner. The Blades were down to 10 men in the closing stages of the game as Marshall Francis was sent off after receiving two yellow cards.
