Posh U18s kick-off their Under-18 Professional Development League Cup campaign on Saturday.
Peterborough United U18s welcome Bradford City U18s to the idverde Training Ground on Saturday morning (11:30am) in their opening game of the Under-18 Professional Development League Cup group stage.
Jamal Campbell-Ryce’s side have also been drawn against Crewe Alexandra and Huddersfield Town in their group. The under 18s face a trip to face The Railwaymen on October 8th before welcoming The Terriers to the idverde Training Ground on November 5th.
Gabriel Overton and Harry Titchmarsh, who were both unused substitutes for the first team in their Papa John’s Trophy fixture earlier this week, are set to return to the squad, while János Bodnár is also available for Posh U18s this weekend.
Under 18s manager Campbell-Ryce is excited to have a near full-squad available to him ahead of the Professional Development Cup clash against Bradford City on Saturday and wants to see the players work harder in their performance after a difficult start to the 2022/23 season.
“The squad is as strong as we have had it this season. We have some of the second-year scholars back playing, so hopefully the players can all come together now. As a coach, we want all our best players playing at the same time, but this is the closest we have got to having a full squad available to us, which is exciting.
“However, this will give me a tough decision to make selection-wise, which I haven’t had yet. We want to start our cup campaign well and get the victory, but for me, I want to see the hunger from the players and the ability to work harder than their direct opponent."
