Posh U18s face Rovers in the quarter-final of the league cup.
Peterborough United U18s travel to Hoober Homes Elite Performance Centre on Saturday morning (11am) as they face Doncaster Rovers U18s in the quarter-final of the Under-18 Professional Development League Cup.
Jamal Campbell-Ryce’s side reached this stage of the competition after topping Group B with seven points following victories over Huddersfield Town and Bradford, while a draw with Crewe Alexandra.
Rovers also topped their group, picking up two victories and one draw, and have enjoyed an unbeaten start to 2023 after a 3-0 win at Accrington before being held to a 2-2 draw by Harrogate Town.
The under 18s are set to welcome back forward Gabriel Overton after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, while Bayley McCann will also return to the matchday squad. Reuben Marshall, who has enjoyed a successful loan spell at Wisbech Town, and Josh Marcon are both back available.
Speaking ahead of the game, Campbell-Ryce said: "We are really excited about the prospect of reaching the semi-final, but face a tough test against a strong Doncaster Rovers side. It will be great to have Gabe [Overton] back with us and nearly return to full fitness, while also welcoming back Reuben from his loan spell."
Updates of the game will be provided as much as possible on The Posh Academy Twitter account (@theposhacademy).
